What is included in the appointment fee
- The video consultation with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
- Review of intake, exposure history, and prior workup
- Lab and imaging orders, when clinically appropriate
- Prescription, when clinically appropriate
- Dietary and supportive guidance as part of the care plan
- Asynchronous messaging through the patient portal between appointments
What is billed separately
- Laboratory testing
- Billed by Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp directly to the patient.
- Imaging studies
- Billed by the imaging center or partner imaging provider directly.
- Prescription medications
- Paid at the patient's pharmacy of choice.
Why we don't take insurance
BraveWorms is private pay by design. Operating outside insurance lets clinical decisions be governed by the patient and the consulting clinician rather than by what an insurance company will authorize. It also lets the price be flat and printed publicly, with no surprise bills.
Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts may apply depending on the patient's plan and the consulting clinician's documentation. Patients should verify eligibility with their plan administrator.
