01Our commitment
BraveWorms Medical, P.C. is committed to providing a website and clinical experience that is accessible to people with disabilities. Equal access to health information and care is a civil right under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 51).
02Standard we follow
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We test against this standard and address gaps as a normal part of engineering.
03What we do
- Design with sufficient color contrast and a typographic scale that supports zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
- Use semantic HTML, ARIA where appropriate, and meaningful focus indicators.
- Provide text alternatives for non-text content.
- Make all interactive elements operable by keyboard.
- Set touch targets to at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels on mobile.
- Test with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) at each release.
- Avoid auto-playing motion; animation respects the user's
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - Provide a clinical service by video with the option of phone-only audio when video is a barrier.
04Known limitations
Some illustrations are decorative and intentionally have empty alt text. Third-party services we link to (the patient intake portal, lab portals) are operated by other companies and may have their own accessibility statuses; if you encounter a barrier on a third-party page that affects your ability to receive care, email us and we will help.
05How to report a barrier or request an alternate format
Email accessibility@braveworms.com with a description of the page and the barrier you encountered, or the format you need (large print, plain text, or read by phone). We will acknowledge your message within two business days and provide a substantive response within ten business days.
06Formal complaints
You may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights at hhs.gov/ocr/complaints or with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (now Civil Rights Department) at calcivilrights.ca.gov.
