Follow-up

Parasitology is a discipline that rewards patient follow-through.

Several common parasitic infections require post-treatment confirmation that the organism is cleared. Some serologies are slow to fall. The cadence below is a typical scaffold; the actual plan is set by the consulting clinician.

Calendar grid abstraction with a thin trend line.
Week 2

Follow-up consultation to assess tolerability of any prescribed medication. Liver enzymes may be repeated if clinically indicated based on the agent and the baseline values.

Week 4

Eosinophil count may be rechecked. Stool studies may be repeated when the initial findings warrant confirmation of clearance.

Month 3

Strongyloides serology may be repeated to assess response when the baseline was positive, in line with published response criteria. Other serologies are interpreted on a case-by-case basis.

Month 6

Comprehensive reassessment of laboratory findings as clinically appropriate. The decision to repeat any specific test is individualized.

Month 12

Annual reassessment. Continuation of monitoring beyond this point is determined by the clinician based on ongoing exposure risk and prior findings.

Follow-up appointments are billed at the same rates as initial appointments: $120 for an individual appointment, $100 for an additional household member. See full pricing.

A consultation is $120.

Flat, private pay, no insurance. Labs, imaging, and prescriptions are billed separately by the lab, imaging center, and pharmacy.
